A product of Clemson University, Wright was a fourth-round selection back in 2025. He started 2024 in Low-A Fresno, but quickly proved that his bat was ready for greener pastures. Over 69 games, Wright posted a .297/.370/.370 slashline and a WRC+ of 110.
Wright was then promoted to High-A Spokane for the second half of the season and saw mixed results. His OBP dropped by nearly 70 points, but he showed a previously untapped ability to hit for power with seven home runs in 56 games.
He primarily came up as a third baseman, but spent nearly half of his time in Spokane holding down the second base slot. In an organization prioritizing defensive versatility, Wright’s ability to play multiple infield positions will only help him in the long run

Wright was an underslot signing in the 2024 draft to help the Rockies afford to sign both Charlie Condon and Brody Brecht who combined for around $450,000 overslot (Wright was signed $430K underslot). While his $250,000 signing bonus tempered expectations on the 4th round pick, Wright is a very solid prospect. Coming out of Clemson, Wright was heralded for his steady leadership, reliable defensive ability, bat to ball skills, and ability to lift the baseball.
In the pros, Wright has not torched the lower minors as expected but his 108 wRC+ between Single-A Fresno and High-A Spokane suggest he will be a force in the system with a chance to earn a utility infield role.
