More detailed breakdown
Wilder Dalis checks in at No. 24 on our Rockies prospect rankings heading into 2026- a big leap after his breakout 2025 season. The 19-year-old Venezuelan switch-hitter signed quietly in 2023 but quickly made noise with his bat. After showing progress in the DSL in 2024, he erupted in the ACL last year, slashing .352/.440/.525 with 3 home runs, 5 triples, 12 doubles, and 10 steals across 219 plate appearances. He paired that production with a 13% walk rate and a 149 WRC+, earning organizational Player of the Month honors in July.
After finishing his complex-league breakout, Dalis earned a late promotion to Low-A Fresno and didn’t look out of place. He posted a .241/.333/.379 line, a respectable showing considering his age and the jump in pitching quality.
What stands out most is the foundation. Dalis has advanced bat-to-ball skills for a teenager and pairs them with mature strike-zone judgement- arguably among the best in the system. Defensively, he offers flexibility across the infield, seeing most of his time at third base while also logging innings at shortstop and second.
The primary area for growth showed up in Fresno, where more advanced breaking stuff gave him some trouble. That’s a common adjustment period for young hitters in full-season ball, and given his feel for contact and approach, it’s a developmental hurdle rather than a red flag.
He’s expected to open 2026 in Fresno, and another step there could quickly elevate his standing within the organization. With a polished offensive foundation and defensive versatility, Dalis profiles as a steady long-term piece who still has room to grow into something more. He’s a name that could gain traction in a hurry if the bat keeps trending up. Written by Eli Whitney.
