Player Summary
Brief Summary
Alessander De La Cruz, a 20-year-old outfielder, stands 6’1″ and weighs 208 pounds. Acquired as an International Free Agent in 2023, he has shown significant promise, despite a drop in ranking from 31 to 36 after a less powerful season in the ACL. His impressive bat speed and potential raw power remain notable.
More detailed breakdown
After a sophomore DSL season where Alessander De La Cruz slashed .318/.406/.542 with seven home runs, he caught everyone’s attention at BSB. A promotion to the ACL led to less in-game power results, which has the 20-year-old fall five spots. In 2025 he still posted a 108 wRC+ with a walk rate touching 10%.
De La Cruz has lightning bat speed, which has helped him see exit velocities over 110 MPH in the minors. His swing path is relatively flat and short, which will become more exploitable as he progresses through the minors (as he saw with his slugging percentage go from .542 to .408 upon being promoted to the ACL). Regardless of him hitting just two homers last season, the German-born outfielder has some of the best raw power in the organization. Changing a swing is easier said than done, but if De La Cruz improves his swing we can see a gargantuan prospect stock increase in him.
